Getting out into the community

Brian has had a series of command events and four day weekends which have allowed us to bravely explore the community as a family.  With Sadie settling into more and more of a predictable schedule we have been having a blast the last week or so!  Starting with a family night at a local family recreation complex Adventure Crossing, we got to spend some time playing miniature golf (aka baby hand off) and Sadie was initiated into an Indiana tradition: racing.

We also took some time to check out the kiddie park down the street from our house.  With the beginning of classes drawing closer, Brian's schedule has allowed me to have the car more often in the day time and I've set up a few playdates for Sadie.  The play group at the Family Outreach Center is a bit crowded, but it was a good place to connect and set up smaller get togethers.  I also was able to reconnect with a girlfriend from Monterey who had also been moved out here recently.  Her daughter is about a month older than Sadie and they have been 'playing' together since Sadie was born.
